Men’s Pizza Night
Men of all ages are invited for an evening of good food, fun, and fellowship on Thursday, September 12th, 6:00pm, at Ops Pizza Kitchen and Café in Kingsland. Meet us upstairs for a $10 buffet. The invitation is not exclusive to just the men of SMUMC – bring a neighbor, friend, or newcomer to the area.
Dottie West Bake & Craft Sale
Our United Methodist Women (UMW) will hold the Dottie West Bake & Craft Sale next Sunday, September 15th, in the Breezeway before & after Sunday School and after the worship service. Ministry for Older Adults
The Good Timers will meet in Bailey Hall at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 18th, for Bingo! Admission is a small prize, preferably purchased from Dollar Tree. Thursday Weekly Basketball
Everyone is invited to join us at the Lighthouse Radio Station WECC 89.3 FM every Thursday night at 6:30pm for some pick-up basketball.
New Study
Do you ever wonder what it means to be Methodist? You are invited to “Come to the Table” and participate in a six-week video series, which will explore the foundations of our Methodist faith and traditions. Topics will include “Amazing Grace”, “Methodist History”, and “Our Connection”. This study will take place on Sunday mornings beginning September 8th, at 8:45am, upstairs in the Social Hall, last classroom on right-hand side of hallway (Pilgrim Classroom). Sunday School Classes
Sunday School Classes are available for children, youth, and adults, beginning at 8:45am. You are invited to visit a class or two and find your place in Sunday School. A full description of all the classes is available at the Welcome Desk.
Ongoing Children’s Activities (nursery is available for all activities)
  • Sundays – Children of all ages are invited to attend one of our graded Sunday School Classes at 8:45am; Children’s Church is for children 4years – 5th grade. Children start in the sanctuary with their parents and after a short message during the worship ser- vice, are directed to 2 different classes based on age for a Bible lesson and various activities; “God Squad for 5th Graders” – 5th Graders meet for various activities just for them each Sunday at 4:00pm.
  • Wednesdays at 5:30pm – Children’s Choirs Rehearsals – “Music Time” for 3 year old – K, “Music Makers” for 1st – 3rd grades, “Young Musicians” for 4th – 6th grades.
  • Wednesdays also bring Playhouse Kids for children 3 years – 1st grade time to enjoy learning about the Bible and making new friends. There is also Clue’s Club for chil- dren in 2nd – 5th grade to spend time together “investigating” the Bible through vari- ous enrichment activities. Both activities begin at 6:15pm.
Radio Ministry
Our church is sponsoring “The Man in the Mirror” Radio Minute. It airs Monday thru Friday at 6:40am on The Lighthouse, 89.3FM. The radio minutes will offer life-changing insights from God’s word, with practical solutions for the unique issues and challenges facing men every day. We hope you will be listening!

Helping Hands Food Pantry
Our shelves are especially low on canned peas, carrots, soups and fruit of all kinds, cereal, pasta, juice, canned meats and fish, rice, jelly, oat meal and shelf stable milk and cheese. Donations may be dropped off at the Food Pantry between 9:00am and 11:30am, Monday thru Thursday (103 W. Church Street, St. Marys). You may also leave your dona- tions in the basket next to the Welcome Desk when you come to worship on Sundays. Thank you for your generous support of this much needed mission!
SMUMC now has an AED
SMUMC now has an AED that’ll soon be installed in the hallway of the Happy Apple wing. If you are trained on using an AED and are willing to be called upon should someone be in need of help, please call the church office at 912-882-5505, ext. 0. We are also looking into having other AEDs installed in various locations on our campus.
