United Methodist Women (UMW)
All ladies of the church are invited to join us for the next UMW meeting on Monday, October 1st at 6:30pm. Carol Taulbee and Anne Newton will provide dessert/refreshments. Carol Taulbee is in charge of the program. Those interested in working with the new UMW cookbook will meet at 5:30pm in Bailey Hall prior to the regular meeting. Ministry for Older Adults
The “Good Timers” invite you to join us for a “Lunch and Activities Day” on Wednesday, October 3rd, at 1:00pm in Bailey Hall. The cost of the lunch is only $5.00. Lunch will be followed by a special walking tour of the Saint Marys cemetery for those who wish to participate. Low Country Boil
Tickets are available for the Low Country Boil on Saturday, Octo- ber 13th at Magnolia Manor in St. Marys. Any monies earned will be used to purchase generators for Magnolia Manor in case of power outages. Tickets are $25.00 each and may be purchased by calling Toni or May at 912-673-7713.
Thursday Weekly Basketball
Everyone is invited to join us at the Lighthouse Radio Station WECC 89.3 FM every Thursday night at 6:30pm for some pick-up basketball.
New Study
The Wesley Class started a new study called “Starting Point ” last Sunday but it’s not too late to join us. The books and material have been donated. The Wesley Class meets each Sunday Upstairs in Bailey Hall, the 2nd room on the left at 8:45am.
Bible Study
Join Mike Kivi as he brings us another fascinating and thought provoking Bible study, “Seeing Jesus Through Old Testament Writings.” This 6-8 week study will give us an intriguing look as the old testament prophets, Psalms and other writings point us to the coming of Jesus. This study is suited for all adults and began last Wednesday, September 19th, but it’s not too late to join us. Meet us at 6:30pm on Wednesday in the Moore SS Classroom upstairs Bailey Hall.
Financial Peace
Jim Lomis and Stephen Kinney are facilitating a Financial Peace University course that began today, September 23rd, at 8:30am upstairs in Bailey Hall. Please email Stephen at if you are interested.
Bible Study
“The Armor of God for Women” by Priscilla Shirer, a 7 session Bible Study led by Nadia Chonko will begin on Thursday, September 27th, from 6:00-7:30pm. Study books cost $13.00. If interested please sign up on the sheet at the Welcome Desk. Contact Nadia at 404-200-0659 or for more info.
Sunday School Classes
Sunday School Classes are available for children, youth, and adults, beginning at 8:45am. You are invited to visit a class or two and find your place in Sunday School. A full description of all the classes is available at the Welcome Desk.
Ongoing Children’s Activities (nursery is available for all activities)
  • Sundays – Children of all ages are invited to attend one of our graded Sunday School Classes at 8:45am; Children’s Church is for children 4years – 5th grade. Children start in the sanctuary with their parents and after a short message during the worship ser- vice, are directed to 2 different classes based on age for a Bible lesson and various activities; “God Squad for 5th Graders” – 5th Graders meet for various activities just for them each Sunday at 4:00pm.
  • Wednesdays at 5:30pm – Children’s Choirs Rehearsals – “Music Time” for 3 year old – K, “Music Makers” for 1st – 3rd grades, “Young Musicians” for 4th – 6th grades.
  • Wednesdays also bring Playhouse Kids for children 3 years – 1st grade time to enjoy learning about the Bible and making new friends. There is also Clue’s Club for chil- dren in 2nd – 5th grade to spend time together “investigating” the Bible through vari- ous enrichment activities. Both activities begin at 6:15pm.
Radio Ministry
Our church is sponsoring “The Man in the Mirror” Radio Minute. It airs Monday thru Friday at 6:40am on The Lighthouse, 89.3FM. The radio minutes will offer life-changing insights from God’s word, with practical solutions for the unique issues and challenges facing men every day. We hope you will be listening!

The Coffee Service Team is looking for volunteers!
Our Coffee Service Team is in need of one or two people willing to man the coffee service table on the 2nd Sunday of each month. The coffee service table is setup and ready to serve coffee at 9:30am and is taken down after the worship service. Please contact Yamy Bauers at if you are interested in helping!

Helping Hands Food Pantry
Our shelves are low on all cereals, canned veggies, canned meats, and soups as well as boxed milk. There is a basket next to the Welcome Desk in the narthex for you to leave your donations on Sunday. You may also drop items off at the food pantry or at the church office during regular hours. Thank you for your continued support of this ministry!
