Ministry for Older Adults
Due to the 1st Wednesday of the month being New Year’s Day and a scheduling conflict, the Good Timers will meet for lunch in Bailey Hall on Wednesday, January 15th at 1:00pm. Bingo will be on Wednesday, January 22nd. We will resume our normal schedule in February. Please contact Pat at or 912-882-4485 if you have any questions.
Attention all Church Council Members
We will be having our church’s annual ministry/program planning session on Tuesday, January 21st, starting at 6:30pm in our church social hall. All Church Council members are encouraged to attend this very important session as we review/plan/prioritize our church programs and activities for the coming year(s).
Thursday Weekly Basketball
Everyone is invited to join us at the Lighthouse Radio Station WECC 89.3 FM every Thursday night at 6:30pm for some pick-up basketball.
New Bible Study
The Pilgrim Sunday School Class will be hosting a new short term Bible study examining Paul’s letter to the Philippians from the New Testament. The study is open to adults of all ages and backgrounds. The class meets on Sunday mornings at 8:45am, upstairs in the social hall, last classroom on right hand side of hallway. All are welcomed to attend.
Sunday School Classes
Sunday School Classes are available for children, youth, and adults, beginning at 8:45am. You are invited to visit a class or two and find your place in Sunday School. A full description of all the classes is available at the Welcome Desk.
Ongoing Children’s Activities (nursery is available for all activities)
  • Sundays – Children of all ages are invited to attend one of our graded Sunday School Classes at 8:45am; Children’s Church is for children 4years – 5th grade. Children start in the sanctuary with their parents and after a short message during the worship ser- vice, are directed to 2 different classes based on age for a Bible lesson and various activities; “God Squad for 5th Graders” – 5th Graders meet for various activities just for them each Sunday at 4:00pm.
  • Wednesdays at 5:30pm – Children’s Choirs Rehearsals – “Music Time” for 3 year old – K, “Music Makers” for 1st – 3rd grades, “Young Musicians” for 4th – 6th grades.
  • Wednesdays also bring Playhouse Kids for children 3 years – 1st grade time to enjoy learning about the Bible and making new friends. There is also Clue’s Club for chil- dren in 2nd – 5th grade to spend time together “investigating” the Bible through vari- ous enrichment activities. Both activities begin at 6:15pm.
Boundaries with Kids
Mrs. Laurie Lentz and Pastor Roy will facilitate the upcoming series, Boundaries with Kids: How to Grow Healthy Kids (by Drs. Henry Cloud & John Townsend). This series is an 8-week video-based study beginning Wednesday, January 22nd. The study will coincide with our children’s choir and our children’s Bible time and a nursery will be available for children up to 4 years of age. Helping Hands Food Pantry
Helping Hands is seeking someone who can maintain our small raised bed garden. If you have a green thumb and a few hours to spare, please contact Beth Tipper at 404-989-2005. Also, if your citrus trees are producing too much fruit, don’t forget we are just right down the road at 103 W. Church Street! Thank you!
