Dottie West Bake & Craft Sale
Our United Methodist Women (UMW) will hold the Dottie West Bake & Craft Sale next Sunday, November 17th, in the Breezeway before & after Sunday School and after the worship service. You do not have to be a member of the UMW to contribute your favorite baked goods or crafts. For more info about our UMW, call Theresa Stanley at 912-674-0744.
 
 
Ministry for Older Adults
The Good Timers will meet in Bailey Hall at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 20th, for Bingo! Admission is a small prize, preferably purchased from Dollar Tree. Please email pgreen1946@gmail.com or call Pat at 912-882-4485. No need to sign up, just “show up“ – it will be lots of fun!.
 
 
Community Thanksgiving Service
The annual Community Thanksgiving Service will be held on Sunday, November 24th, 6:30pm, at St. Marys First Baptist Church. Our local pastors will participate in the service. An offering will be received during the service to benefit the Downtown Ministerial Association Benevolence Fund. You are also asked to bring canned goods to support the Helping Hands Food Pantry. Make plans to join us at this special time of wor- ship as our community gathers to give thanks!
 
 
Thursday Weekly Basketball
Everyone is invited to join us at the Lighthouse Radio Station WECC 89.3 FM every Thursday night at 6:30pm for some pick-up basketball.

Sunday School Classes
Sunday School Classes are available for children, youth, and adults, beginning at 8:45am. You are invited to visit a class or two and find your place in Sunday School. A full description of all the classes is available at the Welcome Desk.
Ongoing Children’s Activities (nursery is available for all activities)
  • Sundays – Children of all ages are invited to attend one of our graded Sunday School Classes at 8:45am; Children’s Church is for children 4years – 5th grade. Children start in the sanctuary with their parents and after a short message during the worship ser- vice, are directed to 2 different classes based on age for a Bible lesson and various activities; “God Squad for 5th Graders” – 5th Graders meet for various activities just for them each Sunday at 4:00pm.
  • Wednesdays at 5:30pm – Children’s Choirs Rehearsals – “Music Time” for 3 year old – K, “Music Makers” for 1st – 3rd grades, “Young Musicians” for 4th – 6th grades.
  • Wednesdays also bring Playhouse Kids for children 3 years – 1st grade time to enjoy learning about the Bible and making new friends. There is also Clue’s Club for chil- dren in 2nd – 5th grade to spend time together “investigating” the Bible through vari- ous enrichment activities. Both activities begin at 6:15pm.
Radio Ministry
Our church is sponsoring “The Man in the Mirror” Radio Minute. It airs Monday thru Friday at 6:40am on The Lighthouse, 89.3FM. The radio minutes will offer life-changing insights from God’s word, with practical solutions for the unique issues and challenges facing men every day. We hope you will be listening!

Hanging of the Greens
We will be decorating our church & facilities for the Advent and Christmas Seasons on Saturday, November 30th, at 9:00am. Anyone willing to help decorate our Church, Chapel and Bailey Hall for the Christmas season is asked to come. We need lots of help! Coffee and donuts will be available. Please stop by the Welcome Desk and sign-up or contact Rose Winnie at rosewinnie@windstream.net.
Our United Methodist Women
Our United Methodist Women are collecting items for Christmas. All items collected between Nov.17 through Dec.22 will be divided between The Methodist Home for Boys (St. Marys campus) and Helping Hands Food Pantry. All items will be delivered in time for Christmas. We are asking for personal items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, razors, shower gel, body wash, hand soap, body lotion, deodorant (non-aerosol) styling gel and mousse, combs, brushes, etc. A basket has been placed next to the Welcome Desk in the lobby of the church for you to leave your donations in when you come to worship on Sundays.

Readers Wanted

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Lay Liturgists during the 10:00am worship service. If you are interested in reading the scripture on Sunday mornings or would like more information, please contact the church office at 912-882-5505 ext. 0 or email smumc@stmarysumc.org.
 
Helping Hands Food Pantry
Our shelves are especially low on diapers, baby food, canned pumpkin, pork and beans, all canned fruit, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, juice, snacks, canned meats and fish. Donations may be dropped off at the Food Pantry between 9:00am and 11:30am, Monday thru Thursday (103 W. Church Street, St. Marys). You may also leave your dona- tions in the basket next to the Welcome Desk when you come to worship on Sundays. Thank you for your continued support of this much needed mission!
